Are you ready to inspire young minds and ignite a passion for math? Catlin Gabel School is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Math Teacher, Interim to join our Middle School! This role involves teaching middle school math using the inquiry-based curriculum Illustrative Mathematics. Responsibilities include teaching three math sections and co-advising a homeroom/advisory group. Courses range from Math 6 to Algebra 2, depending on school needs.
Candidates should utilize diverse teaching methods, demonstrate successful math instruction, and foster students’ confidence in their mathematical abilities. They must be collaborative planners with strong math knowledge, pedagogical skills, and classroom management. Cultural competence in teaching is essential.
The position starts on August 12th and ends on June 18th, 2025.
Salary Range: $50,390-$99,410/year
Qualifications:
- BA or BS in math or related field required.
- MA or MS in math or related field and/or related experience preferable.
- At least two years demonstrated effective math teaching experience required.
- Experience with Illustrative Mathematics is a plus.
- Experience in curriculum development is a plus.
- Experience with Understanding by Design instructional planning a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with adolescents is required.
- Use of internet, e-mail, and other appropriate technology applications is essential.
- Understanding and experience with progressive education principles including student-centered teaching, project-based learning, and performance-based assessment is preferable.
