Job Title: Part-Time Teacher
Salary Range: $8,000 to $12,000/year for one full day of instruction (pro-rated for less than one full day of instruction)
Benefits include CO Pera Retirement, Jeffco Empower Retirement, and Paid Time Off
FLSA Status: Exempt
Work Year: 37 – 52 Days

Summary
This position is responsible for providing quality instruction for students in a classroom setting. Prepare lessons and engaging units
which encourage students to utilize critical thinking skills, collaborative discussions and imagination.
Responsible for providing quality instruction for students. Teachers are responsible for being prepared for their classes with their
materials and copies; material orders are sent off to purchasing with plenty of time to purchase; know, use and problem solve for the
technology specific to their classes; be on the cutting edge of their subject area; create engaging and interactive classes for their
students; provide sub plans; stay within their purchasing budget for the year; have a willingness to learn new things and be a team
player.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• This position is responsible for providing a content rich curriculum specifically in a subject matter for the classroom.
• Demonstrate mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials.
• Engage in collaborative planning with other teachers and administration.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom that supports students’ learning and collaboration.
• Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports school-wide behavior expectations.
• Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members by communicating in
a tactful, courteous, and confidential manner.
• Responsible for being prepared for class with all required materials and copies, ensuring material orders are sent to
purchasing with plenty of time for purchase.
• Know, use and problem solve for any technology needed in the class.
• Create engaging and interactive classes for students.
• Prepare and maintain substitute plans.
• Responsible for following and staying within approved purchasing budget for each academic year.
• Responsible for arriving on time and staying until class is cleaned up for the day.
• Maintain and edit courses and rating for course catalog.
• Establish and hold weekly office hours during the school year.
• Teach classes via remote learning when needed.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education or content area is required. CDE designated hours may be required for highly qualified
requirement.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current Colorado-certified teaching license with a subject specific endorsement or ability to obtain Colorado license is required.
