Duties
Temporary positions not-to-exceed 1039 regular hours in a service year may be terminated sooner or extended depending on management needs.
As a seasonal Park Ranger, your duties will include:
- Serving as an initial contact for park visitors.
- Conducting regular, frequent patrols of recreation areas by vehicle, boat, bicycle or on foot to ensure public safety and to monitor visitor compliance and resource impacts.
- Working in the park visitor center and entrance station(s).
- Assisting park visitors and answering questions about available recreational activities, park facilities and resources, and other related topics.
- Performing light grounds maintenance duties such as collecting rubbish and/or emptying containers.
- Administering first aid and other emergency assistance based on certification level and experience.
- Assisting higher-graded park rangers and other staff members with special projects based on education, skills, program needs, and interests.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
