Reading Specialist

Duties:

– Provide individualized reading instruction to students of various age groups, including toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children.
– Assess students’ reading abilities and develop personalized lesson plans to address their specific needs.
– Utilize effective instructional strategies and materials to improve students’ reading skills.
– Implement behavior management techniques to create a positive learning environment.
– Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop strategies for supporting students’ reading development.
– Utilize library services and resources to enhance students’ reading experiences.
– Provide tutoring and academic support to struggling readers.
– Write progress reports and maintain accurate records of students’ reading progress.
– Resolve conflicts and address behavioral issues that may impact students’ reading performance.

Skills:

– Strong instructional design skills, with the ability to create engaging and effective reading lessons.
– Experience working with children of various age groups, including toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children.
– Knowledge of behavior management techniques to effectively manage classroom dynamics.
– Familiarity with library services and resources for promoting literacy.
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
– Ability to assess students’ reading abilities and develop appropriate instructional plans.
– Strong conflict management skills to address behavioral issues that may arise during instruction.
– Knowledge of academic advising principles to guide students in their reading development.

Salary: $45,500.00 – $65,733 per year
